Via Francigena: from Ivrea to Viverone

From the center of Ivrea the path winds through wheat fields and secondary roads until you reach the picturesque Lake Country. The route alternates mule tracks and asphalted sections, crossing the villages of Burolo, Bollengo, Palazzo Canavese and Piverone, accompanied by wide views of the moraine amphitheater and Lake Viverone. Along the way you will find precious historical and religious testimonies, such as the church of San Pietro near Bollengo and the evocative Romanesque ruins of San Pietro di Sugliaco, known as ‘il Gesiun’. A quiet and panoramic stop, immersed in the extraordinary setting of the Serra Morenica di Ivrea, the largest in Europe.
